Man charged with murdering wife

It was confirmed that Madhuri “Sharda” Padumdeo, 21, of Lot 8 North Sophia, Bel Air, Georgetown who was allegedly killed by her reputed husband last Friday was indeed strangled to death. This was revealed by local pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh when he performed the autopsy on the remains of the woman on Wednesday morning. Police seeing ‘improvements’ in narco fight

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has recorded marked improvements in its fight against narcotics this year in comparison with 2010. Statistics released by the force earlier this month indicated that in most areas the force has been able to seize sizeable quantities of narcotics.
