100 not out, but no celebrations!

Friday, April 27 gone was de one 100th edition of de Bell Crier! One hundred not out! It was de same day that Shivnarine Chanderpaul reach 10,000 runs in test cricket! A big milestone; fuh Shiv that is.

Congrats “Tiger”! Of course, de Bell Crier can’t seh congrats to itself fuh reaching a century. Not expecting others too either. Anyway, “Tiger” is de first Guyanese and now de 10th person fuh reach that landmark in de history of cricket which is over 100 years old! But is only “Tiger” celebrate de achievement and it was “low key” because he team ain’t gat a chance of winning de game.

People seh Guyanese here ain’t celebrate, because de opposition cut that out! Some ain’t see de moment due to blackout since GPL money also get cut. Now that NCN money get cut too, this might be de last cricket match people seeing pun TV! People seh “Tiger” mek sure he hurry up and reach de landmark before de budget was finalise de same afternoon so that some could see it.

But people not seeing de real game de opposition playing. By cutting NCN and GINA dem want fuh silence de government information arm. But dem also cut CANU! That could only mean that dem ain’t want de authorities fuh fight criminal activities with regards to illegal drugs! This is de same opposition that seh de government not doing enough fuh fight de drug trade! Now it look like de opposition doing all it could to encourage it! Some seh soon marijuana might be forced to be legal! Dem also cut de ERC and State Planning money which means that certain type of conflicts gon can’t be resolve and de state can’t plan fuh de future!

People seeing plenty similarities with de “Hands Up” and “key” party “marriage” to when de Coconut Tree party was in office. Then, freedom of expression was absent, drugs and criminal activities was rife, conflicts to get food was routine and fuh sure, dem wasn’t planning fuh de future! So some 7100 days after they were voted out, they are trying to return Guyana to those days! No wonder nobody celebrating! Ting-aling-a-ling… Friend tell friend… mattie tell mattie!
