“Clash of the Titans”

Set to rock Providence stadium

For the first time in Guyana’s entertainment history, eight bands will collaborate to rock the stage on March 12th 2011 at the Guyana National Stadium at Providence, EBD. It is expected that patrons will be treated to one massive show, titled “Clash of the Titans”, featuring international and local stars.

Five international bands are expected to wow their fans and supporters through songs and dances. From Canada, the Guyanese-based Wave Band, led by Omesh Singh, along with his singers Sushma and Stanley among others, will perform a mix of chutney and film songs.

The official band of Trinidad’s Chutney Soca Monarch Competition, Melobugs Music Machine, led by music director/creator of Maha Studio Rishie Mahatoo, along with Rishi Ram, Chutney Monarch finalist Artie Boothkoon and six- time chutney king of the world Rikki Jai, is all set to rock the National Stadium.

Popular chutney singer Adesh Samaroo will also perform his new single “I love the way you Blush”. Adesh is excited to perform in Guyana, and has promised that those present at the concert will be well entertained.

Captain Vyrendra Persaud and the Caribbean’s number one crossover band JMC 3Venie, touches this event with hype, energy & zest, with lead vocalist KI-Persaud performing his hit “No more rum again.” The strong frontline of JMC 3Venie also includes Neeshad, Savita & Papa Steve. It is expected that this T&T band will produce a dynamic performance for the patrons of this event.

It seems that Guyanese chutney lovers cannot get enough of the Caribbean and the World’s premiere chutney/soca band Karma, with the energy of second-place winner of the Trinidad Chutney Monarch, Ravi B, coming with a full line of new songs. Karma band will lead the cast at the “Clash of the Titans” showdown.

Appearing on the show are three of Guyana’s finest local bands — Dax New Generation, Clarity Crossover Band, Avi & Shakti Strings Int’l. Also fresh from his performance at the Trinidad Chutney Monarch Competition is the “Guyana Baboo”, Terry G, & his hit single “Sumattie”. Along with his past hit songs, this maestro will rock the event. Local sensation Mahendra Ramkellawan will also officially release his hit single, “Dem a Watch Me”, at the event.
